There is a public warning being issued on Vancouver Island about the release of a violent sex offender.
The corrections branch of the Ministry of Public Safety and solicitor-general are warning the public about the release of Ryan Glen Ziegler.
Ziegler was released Monday after serving five months for breach of probation and failing to comply with a court order, but his list of prior offences is a lengthy one.
Ziegler's victims are most commonly female children and adults.
He also has a history of violating the conditions of his release. His defence lawyer said during court proceedings that the trouble stems from a serious addiction to alcohol.
Ziegler is not allowed near playgrounds, schools, daycares, recreation centres or swimming pools. He is not permitted to have any contact with persons under the age of 14, and is not allowed to be intoxicated in public.--
