Interview with Tim Burton on 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'

"Director Tim Burton has been making films of various capacities since the late '70s, but it wasn't until Pee-wee's Big Adventure, his first feature film in 1985, that he really started to get attention. Twenty years later, he comes full circle, replacing one beloved children's personality with another with his adaptation of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Considering that 'chocolateer' Willy Wonka is even stranger than Pee-Wee Hermann, it might not seem like much of a departure." (more at link)
