More on Infantilism

Ten years ago, my world changed: I'm an infantilist, and had just found out that I wasn't alone. If you will excuse the pun, Infantilism is the urge to be pampered. It is a variation, a range of desires that have a common theme: Diapers and babyhood. Some infantilists dress up and act like adult babies. Others have more of a diaper fetish. Infantilism seems odd and is quite rare. Those who have it may have spent decades thinking that they are the only one. The world continues to change. In February 2005, the prime-time drama "CSI" introduced infantilism to mainstream America. This brief introduction left a number of unanswered questions.

Infantilism (paraphilic) is a certain psychological condition experienced by those whose level of physical maturity has clearly progressed beyond the life-stage of infancy. The defining aspect of this condition is the derivation of a profound sense of well-being or of a certain type of great pleasure that becomes associated with various infantile objects and/ or infantile roleplaying. When referred to in terms of sexuality, it is referred to as ABDL, or Adult Baby (or Teen Baby)/ Diaper Lover. But, while ABs, TBs and DLs tend to associate with each other, it is more accurate to state that DLs are not infantilists. The distinction is made because while there is a sexual component to wearing a diaper for a DL, the diaper is not seen as a symbol of regressing to an infantile state. But it is proper to describe both ABs and TBs as infantilists. However, despite this difference, the abbreviation ABDL or ABTBDL is often used to describe the general community of Adult Babies, Teen Babies and Diaper Lovers.
