Diaz Lawyer Tells of Blackmail Against Actress
The photographer who took topless pictures of Cameron Diaz when she was a struggling model gave her a 48-hour deadline to pay or face widespread publication of the pictures and video, the superstar's lawyer testified this morning.
John Rutter, on trial for charges of forgery, grand theft and perjury, then extended the deadline two days when Diaz pushed for more discussion, said Marcy Morris, Diaz's lawyer.
"I was furious," she said of Rutter. "I said, 'You're trying to extort money from my client. You just want to get Cameron to pay you a lot of money to get these pictures off the market where you're trying to hurt her."
Rutter has denied the charges, and the steamy photos and video described by Cameron's agent as "S&M" are the center of the trial in Los Angeles County Superior Court --
