The Globe and Mail: COMIX TO FILM

"It should be so easy to turn a comic book into a movie. Both art forms share many qualities: an emphasis on primarily visual storytelling, a love of fast-paced action, dialogue that demands exclamation marks.

The relationship between the two has been especially fruitful in recent years. Adaptations of Spider-Man, X-Men and Blade have all yielded massively successful movie franchises and this weekend's Batman Begins may revitalize another one. This year's pack of comic-inspired pics includes Sin City and Constantine, with Fantastic Four out next month."
