Artist Profile: Scott G. Brooks

Scott G. Brooks has lived and worked in the Washington D.C. area since 1990. He is originally from the Flint, Michigan area and received a Bachelor in Fine Arts from the University of Michigan in 1983. His work appears in galleries, children's books, magazines, newspapers, on websites, and in advertising.

Scott cites many influences, his earliest being Disney, all forms of television, religious imagery, and disaster movies. Later influences include Ingres, Odd Nerdrum, and Cadmus.

He divides his time between fine arts and commercial illustration. For samples of Scott's illustration work, go to www.sgbrooks.com.

I really liked the drawings in the 'Sins & Virtues' gallery.
