Star Wars characters built with Legos

(click the pic to see tons more cool Lego Star Wars fan art)

We have nanofig scale. We have minifigs. We have the larger character series…but no Miniland scale models to enjoy (no official releases, anyway). A Miniland figure is roughly the size of your average Star Wars™ action figure: 4 inches tall. This is the scale style of building LEGO® uses in the dioramas featured in their theme parks.

Although I try as hard as I can to keep my models as small as possible, they always come out bigger than true Miniland scale. So, I’ll just call them UCS Miniland Scale. (UCS = Ultimate Collectors Series, a classification LEGO® uses for sets that are not quite in scale to normal minifigure-scale sets, but rather are more aimed at being more visually appealing and accurately detailed.

Head detail is key. And, if at all possible, I try to avoid using any painted design pieces (call me a purist, but I just like the idea of relying completely on pure brick for detail).

Awesome examples of fan-built models. Click the pic to see versions of Darth Maul, Tusken Raiders, General Ackbar (it's a trap!), Greedo, and more!
